“I wanted to show Medusa getting tired of her own shit and crashing out. I used my friend Khei as a model. She’s a trans woman and her look and profile were the perfect phenotype to portray the duality and fierce beauty of mythology’s most famous gorgon.”
About the Artist:
Amna Basheer is a Los Angeles based artist and designer that hails from Kerala India. Amna’s eclectic background and experience, working for a jewelry company, a commercial art mural company, a custom neon signage company and having freelanced in three different countries, shines through in her art. Her bold use of color and contrast, raw and naked bold colors intersecting with the complexity and softness of the human form exude a raw emotion that is uniquely personal and inspiring.
