“Kintsugi has always been a beautiful concept; using wear and tear to make an object more beautiful, highlighting its imperfections with precious metal gave me the idea to finish her broken edge with gold. The mind is a prison until you break yourself open.”
About the Artist:
Amna Basheer is a Los Angeles based artist and designer that hails from Kerala India. Amna’s eclectic background and experience, working for a jewelry company, a commercial art mural company, a custom neon signage company and having freelanced in three different countries, shines through in her art. Her bold use of color and contrast, raw and naked bold colors intersecting with the complexity and softness of the human form exude a raw emotion that is uniquely personal and inspiring.
