“I took this picture when I was breaking glass pipes on my concrete floors about twice a week and had to McGyver a solution more times than I’d like to admit. I’ve always loved the tongue in cheekiness of Magrittes the treachery of images and wanted to do my own version.”
About the Artist:
Amna Basheer is a Los Angeles based artist and designer that hails from Kerala India. Amna’s eclectic background and experience, working for a jewelry company, a commercial art mural company, a custom neon signage company and having freelanced in three different countries, shines through in her art. Her bold use of color and contrast, raw and naked bold colors intersecting with the complexity and softness of the human form exude a raw emotion that is uniquely personal and inspiring.
